A flat roof is the description of a roof that is intended to have a very low pitch, typically any roof below a 2 inch rise per foot. No roof should be completely flat (or level) without allowing water to drain from its surface. Insufficient pitch will result in premature deterioration of the roofing membrane, will void manufacturer warranties and is not code compliant. Most local building codes require a 1/8 inch rise and in some jurisdictions, a 1/4 inch rise per foot. In order to acquire this pitch, a tapered system is typically designed using Polyisocyanurate. We are certified installers of many flat roofing types including TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin), EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monmomer), SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) Modified Bitumen, APP (Atactic Polypropylene), and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). These roofs come in a wide array of colors from energy efficient bright whites to black and anywhere in between such as tan, green, red, gray, blue and more.
